Butler County is seeking a $25,000 grant to facilitate DUI checkpoints.
If awarded, the money would be used next year (2016) to reimburse municipal police departments for their extra work in conducting both full DUI checkpoints and roving DUI patrols. Scott Roskovski from the District Attorney’s office, who is in the DUI Task Force Coordinator, says locations for roving patrols are determined by statistics from PennDOT on past DUI crashes and incidents.
The Butler County commissioners will vote on the grant application during their meeting Wednesday.
