Even if your furnace is new, don’t be alarmed if you see it struggling to keep up when temperatures dip below zero.
“Furnaces are normally sized for zero degrees so when we dip below zero, it’s going to struggle. It’s going to do all it can,” Todd Barger with Schneider’s One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning in Butler said. “You’re going to see a drop in temperature no matter where you set it.”
If your furnace is not-so-new, there are a couple of preventive measures you can take before we dip into the ‘deep freeze.’
“I would suggest checking your air filter and your batteries if your thermostat takes them,” he said.
If your furnace does happen to go out, Schneider’s is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to take your call and get a technician to your home as soon as possible.
