The Butler BlueSox defeated the Richmond River Rats 9-5 last night during Butler Media Group night at the ballpark. The Sox had one of their best attendance nights of the season for a weekday last evening to see Butler native Tyler Slepski pick up his fourth victory of the season. The Sox starting pitcher allowed just one earned run over eight innings. Slepski lowered his ERA to 2.58 and is now 4-1. Centerfielder Michael Patrick hit a home run and drove in two as the Sox pounded 13 hits in the game. Butler remains a half game behind first-place Chillicothe who defeated West Virginia 1-0 last night. The Sox host Richmond again tonight at 6:35pm.
