A specially equipped vehicle will make a stop at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler Township Thursday to provide a look at telehealth services and equipment.
A Telehealth Education Delivered vehicle (TED for short) is a van outfitted with technologies that enable facilities to provide education and training on a range of telehealth and patient care solutions.
The van will be parked at outside the primary care entrance from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and demonstrate the ways telehealth can extend healthcare access, enhance patient care, and enable collaboration among healthcare providers and patients.
VA officials say telehealth at VA Butler ensures veterans get the right care in the right place at the right time. However, VAs could also be vulnerable to telehealth-based scams, if you want to find out about the potential problems with telehealth so you are able to be aware while using it, there is a wealth of information out there on how to get help if you find yourself a victim of such fraud.
“We aim to make their home into the preferred place of care, whenever possible,” according to a news release from VA Butler.
Slippery Rock University was recognized on Tuesday during this week’s national VFW convention for their telehealth program for student veterans.
