The Butler’s Girls Track & Field team dominates North Hills and Fox Chapel on Tuesday night with a 124-26 victory over North Hills and a 119-31 victory over Fox Chapel. This was their home opener in WPIAL Class AAA, Section 3 action. Jena Reinheimer won the Shot Put and Discus. The Girl’s swept all three relays -4×800 Relay team of Chesna Tomko, Erin LeMay, Emma LeMay and Leah Bowden, 4×100 relay team of Chesna Tomko, Maddie Tonini, Gabby Boden and Emma Stewart and the 4×400 relay team of Chesna Tomko, Maddie Tonini, Ali Altman and Liz Simms were all winners. Maggie Welty won the 1600, Liz Simms won the 400, Chesna Tomko won her 4th event – the 300 Hurdles, Alexis Hopper won the High Jump, Heidi Gross won the Javelin. Samantha Penrod won the Pole Vault.
Other place winners for the Tornado was Anna Baxter and Tabby Wilbert in the 100 Hurdles, Emma Stewart & Gabby Boden in the 100, Alexia Mechling and Ali Altman in the High Jump, Stewart, Altman and Mackenzi Popovich in the long jump, Emma Stewart, Lucy Link, and Ali Altman in the triple Jump, Alyssa Eyth in the shot put and Discus as well as Sarayne Forbes in the Discus. Gabby Lucas and Maddie Fry also placed in the Pole Vault.
The Girls move to 3-0 in WPIAL Class AAA, Section 3. They meet traditional rival North Allegheny next Tuesday in a pivitol section meet.
