Tens of millions of people will travel nationwide for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission predicts 2.8 million vehicles will travel the highway, that’s up about 100,000 vehicles from last year.
The heaviest turnpike traffic is expected Thursday with about 700,000 vehicles on the road.
Driving won’t be as expensive this year. Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania are averaging $2.95, which is 90 cents less than the same week last year.
