The first of three nights of racing got underway at Lernerville Speedway last night as the World of Outlaws Late Models arrived for the Firecracker 100 weekend. Although weather is certainly going to play into the three-day event this year, no problem last night as Shane Clanton of Georgia led all thirty laps to the opening night victory and its $6,000 prize. Clanton was the Firecracker 100 winner in 2010. Pennsylvania natives Rick Eckert was the runner-up followed by Jared Miley. 44 Late Models were in the Action Track pits for the evening. The racing continues tonight, followed by the $30,000-to-win main event scheduled for Saturday night.
