The Pittsburgh Penguins have hired Mike Sullivan as their new head coach in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The team is their top minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League. The 47-year old Sullivan most recently served as player development coach for the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, and has been the head coach of the Boston Bruins in the past. He replaces John Hynes who was hired last month as the new head coach of the New Jersey Devils under former general manager Ray Shero.
