The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Phil Kessel and Derrick Brassard both scored twice for the Pens. Matt Murray stopped 27 of 29 shots on goal.
The Pens begin a three-game road trip Saturday in St. Louis. Face-off is 8pm. WISR pre-game is 7:30pm.
The Penguins have signed winger Jake Guentzel to a five-year contract extension. The contract is worth $30 million. The 24-year old Guentzel has 15 goals and 33 points this season.
