The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced the signing of 27-year old Niclas Andersen of Sweden to a contract. Andersen was the captain of his team in the Swedish Hockey League this past season. His contract is a two-way one year deal. He was a fourth round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2006, but never signed with them. He is expected to begin at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the fall.
