The Butler County Water Rescue Team and firefighters had to help a kayaker on Moraine State Park’s Lake Arthur get back to shore Wednesday evening.
Crews were called to the Route 528 boat launch about 7 p.m. to assist a man who was trying to paddle an inflatable kayak back to the launch.
“He was out paddling along and the head wind was a little strong so he had a hard time getting back to shore,” Prospect Fire Chief Ken Wilson said. “There were 40 mile-per-hour winds on Wednesday, that’s a pretty tough course to follow.”
The kayaker was found about a mile from the launch by dive teams. The kayak didn’t capsize and the man was not hurt.
