Gas prices have ticked up by a couple cents across much of the region and even more than that locally.
According to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler is $3.15. That’s an increase of eight cents compared to last week.
The lowest gas prices in the Western Pennsylvania region are still found in Clarion where motorists are paying an average of $2.94. Butler is tied with a few other areas, such as Kittanning, for the most expensive gas.
AAA says national prices are the most expensive they have been in four years as well as an average of 52 cents per gallon higher than they were last year at this time.
