Kevin Harvick won for the first time in a Nascar Cup series race at the Sonoma road course Sunday. It was also his first victory this season. Harvick led a Ford sweep of the top three positions. His teammate Clint Bowyer was the runner-up, followed by Brad Keselowski. The race set a Sonoma course record with 13 lead changes among 10 drivers. Martin Truex, Jr. won the first stage of the race, and led a race-high 25 laps, but lost an engine and finished 37th.
Steve Torrence picked up his fourth Top Fuel win of the season at the NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio Sunday. Torrence defeated Doug Kalitta in the final at more than 331 miles per hour in the final. Jack Beckman won the Funny Car. Bo Butner the Pro Stock.
Scott Dixon won the Indy Car event at the road course in Elkart Lake, Wisconsin Sunday. It was his 41st career victory.
