A local lawmaker is holding an event Thursday, May 11, to try to make municipal electric billing fairer.
State Representative Aaron Bernstine, a Republican who represents parts of Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. in Ellwood City to introduce legislation. Bernstine is expected to be joined at this event by representatives of the Western Butler County Authority.
Currently, residents in many Pennsylvania boroughs are seeing drastic increases in their electric bills with no increase in electricity consumption. Bernstine’s bill would require boroughs electric providers to adopt more uniform and reasonable rate structures.
This press conference is scheduled to be streamed live online at RepBernstine.com.
