Several local students are among those who will be receiving a scholarship from Central Electric Cooperative.
Earlier this week the CEC announced their ten 2017 Good Neighbor Scholarship winners who will each receive a $2,000 scholarship.
Among the winners are Lauren Broad who is a student at BC3, Noah Tabacchi at Knoch Area High School, Olivia Barner at Mars Area High School, and Brooke Shaefers at Slippery Rock High School.
Selection for the scholarships is based on volunteer service to the community, church, and school. Funding for the scholarships comes from unclaimed capital credits previously returned to the state treasury.
