A local elementary school is holding a food drive this week.
Second and third graders at Mars Area Elementary School will be collecting donations all week as part of a social studies lesson about the importance of volunteers and volunteering.
As part of the food drive, students will be giving speeches about the project, creating posters, collecting the donations, and making graphs of their results.
Donations can be dropped off at the school’s main office during school hours. Volunteers will be taking the transported food items on Friday to the Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township.
