An annual awards ceremony will take place later this week at Slippery Rock University.
The 2016-17 Rising Star Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3 in the Smith Student Center Ballroom.
The university’s contract food vendor, AVI Fresh, sponsors the event with the presentation of ten Rising Star Awards including Student Leader of the Year, Silent Inspiration, and Student Community Service Awards. Faculty and staff will also receive awards as well as student organizations and student organized events.
Winners are selected by AVI Fresh based on nominations submitted and will receive a certificate of achievement as well as have a star named after them in the International Star Registry.
