The city authority that runs Kelly Automotive Park in Butler says they’re taking action to address concerns that the facility is falling into disrepair.
At a meeting last week between the City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority and the team that calls the park home- the Butler BlueSox- it came to light that BlueSox representatives were unhappy with several aspects of the facility.
Last night, authority members addressed those concerns and said several improvements have been made and more are coming. They include: the installation of new seats, signs and mounds, repairs to the backstops and the park’s sound system, and new scoreboard lights.
In addition, city officials say an extensive paint job is set to take place this weekend.
The Butler BlueSox had offered to manage the park earlier this year but withdrew the offer when the authority delayed voting on the issue.
