Several firefighters were honored for recently stepping up in extraordinary circumstances.
First, Director of Public Safety Kathy Kline presented a stork pin during Thursday’s Butler City Council meeting to Lieutenant Robert Dougherty for helping to deliver a baby in early March. Firefighter Jeff Scott will also get a pin for assisting with the delivery but he was not present at Thursday night’s meeting.
Then a month later, city resident Dwayne Moore went into cardiac arrest at the city’s public safety building and was saved by the actions of firefighters Lieutenant Scott Marshall, Dean Selfridge and Jonathan Feicht. Kline presented those three firefighters with framed letters of commendation.
