Cranberry Township police officers are continuing to work to get into the best possible physical condition.
27 of 30 officers participating in the Elite Police FIT program will have their first official benchmark fitness assessments today (Monday) and Wednesday.
The benchmark fitness assessment includes timed 1.5 mile runs at Mars High School as well as a combination of weight lifting, pushups, and sit-ups at the Cranberry Municipal Center police weight room.
This unique program began last December and offers incentives including paid time off for participants who meet individualized goals.
