The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 in overtime Sunday to take a 3-0 series lead in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Penguins erased an early 3-1 deficit in the first period to win the game. Jake Guentzel scored the game-winner and had a hat trick in the game. Bryan Rust and Evgeni Malkin scored the other Penguins goals. The Pens had 47 shots on goal in the game.
The Pens and Blue Jackets meet for game four Tuesday in Columbus.
The Blue Jackets played without forward Matt Calvert, who was suspended one game by the NHL for a dirty hit on Penguins forward Tom Kuhnackl late in game two.
