The Pittsburgh Penguins took game one of their first round Stanley Cup playoff series with the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. Marc-Andre Fleury started in goal for the Penguins when Matt Murray was scratched following warm-up. He stopped 31 of 32 shots. Bryan Rust opened the scoring for the Penguins in the second period. Phil Kessel and Nick Bonino added goals in the second period as well. Kessel’s goal was on the power play. Evgeni Malkin returned from injury and had two assists.
Game two of the series will be Friday night at PPG Paints Arena. Game time is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm.
The series will move to Columbus for a 6pm face-off Sunday.

–San Jose defeated Edmonton 3-2 in overtime.
–St. Louis defeated Minnesota 2-1 in overtime.
