It’s been six years since anglers flocked to Glade Run Lake in southern Butler County to cast a line. But Wednesday, the lake officially re-opens.
President of the Glade Run Lake Conservancy Siggy Pehel said for many, today is a long-time coming.
The Middlesex Township lake was drained back in 2011. Work began to rebuild the spillway and damn in 2015. And, improvements were made- including the addition of a handicapped-accessible dock and more fish and turtle habitats in the lake bed.
Former Governor Tom Corbett and Senators Randy Vulakovich, Don White and Scott Hutchinson took part in the ceremony.
