The Butler Area School District is one of a couple local schools selected for a grant from Exxon and XTO Energy.
The Butler School Board heard from grant writer Ashley Coudriet during last night’s school board meeting who discussed the National Math Science Initiative (NMSI) College Readiness Program.
This program will allow for students in grades 3 to 12 to get STEM equipment and professional development for teachers totaling $780,000 over three years. Mars district is one of the local schools that Butler would collaborate with in areas like studying for AP tests.
The board would need to approve spending about $75,000 in order to secure the grant funding. A memorandum of understanding will be presented to the board for approval to allow this grant to move forward.
