The Moniteau boys track and field team defeated North Clarion 106-44 Wednesday. The Warriors took first place in 12 events.
The Slippery Rock University women’s softball team swept California Wednesday for the first time in 11 years. The Rock won the games 7-0 and 4-0. Butler graduate Caitlyn Baxter scored twice and drove in a run in the doubleheader.
Slippery Rock University junior catcher Tyler Walters was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.
Walters, who was already tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week, earned the regional honor after an exceptional doubleheader against Pitt-Johnstown on April 1st in which he had eight hits in nine at-bats, including six extra base hits.
