The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to Ottawa 2-1 in a shoot-out last night. The Penguins played without eight regulars in their line-up due to injuries. Nick Bonino scored the lone Penguins goal, his 16th of the season. It was on a power play in the second period. The Senators scored on a power play in the third period to force overtime, and scored twice in the shoot-out to win the game.
With the point the picked up in their loss, the Penguins remained one point in front of Columbus for second place in the Metropolitan Division. Washington defeated the Blue Jackets 2-1 in a shoot-out last night. The Capitals now lead the Pens by three points.
The Penguins host the New York Islanders tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm.
The Buffalo defenseman who hit winger Jake Guentzel Tuesday and left him with a concussion, has been suspended for three games. Rasmus Ristolainen was disciplined by the NHL Thursday.
