Butler Township will consider a request from Summit Township for splitting the cost of shared road maintenance.
The Summit supervisors sent a letter to the Butler Township commissioners asking for help caring for Bonnie Drive, which is a cul de sac located in both townships.
Officials say heavy commercial traffic uses this road in order to travel to and from PPC Lubricants. The road definitely needs paved but could also need widened, according to the Summit supervisors.
Butler Township Commissioner Joe Wiest believes the job would be able to be accomplished by Butler Township’s in-house road crew for the best price. Wiest plans to work with the township manager and the head of the road department in order to work up an estimate of the work that needs done, as well as get a release of liability from Summit so that Butler Township crews can work on the entire road.
