The Seneca Valley School District will hold an active shooter drill this afternoon.
The drill will take place at the Intermediate High School in Harmony. Students are not in class today- only staff- as it’s a district in-service day.
District communications director Linda Andreassi says the district has taken a proactive stance to the potential of school violence and has been working with first responders to provide classroom training for staff.
The district says the ability for local first responders to participate in simulated emergency scenarios with staff will be invaluable as the district further evaluates policies and test procedures.
