The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 Sunday at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first period of the game. Marc-Andre Fleury replaced Matt Murray after the opening period and stopped all 28 shots he faced. The Sabres had 49 shots on goal, the Penguins had 45. Defenseman Justin Schultz had a goal and two assists. Evgeni Malkin scored his 29th goal of the season.
Malkin scored twice in the Penguins 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay Friday.
The Pens remain tied with Columbus for second place in the Metropolitan Division with 18 games remaining. Both teams are seven points behind first-place Washington, and four points in front of the fourth place New York Rangers.
