A Middlesex Township mother was charged after she allegedly drove drunk to the Mars Primary Center to pick up her child from school.
An Adams Township police officer was alerted to 33-year-old Rebecca Lutz when her SUV started drifting backward as she was getting out of the car at the school Friday afternoon, Feb. 24. Police say Lutz failed to successfully put her vehicle in park before getting out.
After helping secure the vehicle, the officer allegedly smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from Lutz. The officer also noticed a 2-year-old child in the backseat.
According to court documents, Lutz denied having any alcohol that day but refused to perform a field sobriety test or submit to a blood test.
She was arrested.
