Slippery Rock University is showcasing the strength of women during the month of March.
SRU’s President’s Commission on Women will sponsor a variety of events with a goal of providing both a high quality academic experience as well as an environment that is fair and respectful toward women.
One such event is the annual Girls Rock at STEM event scheduled for March 27th to introduce young women in 8th, 9th, and 10th grades to college and career opportunities in math and science. Additional topics of discussion at other events during this month include human trafficking and sexual assault.
Nomination forms for the annual Women of Distinction awards will be released online sometime in March. Finally, the annual Journey of Women at the Rock panel discussion will spotlight personal and uplifting stories from SRU faculty and staff.
