Cranberry Township Police Officers will continue a healthy training program with workshops about food nutrition this week.
As part of the Elite Police FIT program, 25 of the township’s 30 officers have volunteered to reach custom-tailored goals in exercise, weight management, nutrition, and overall wellness.
On March 1st and 2nd, officers will attend a workshop led by a certified dietitian about the health benefits of smarter snack foods.
A particular spotlight will be placed on items low in sugar and fat but high in fiber and protein. The dietitian also plans to discuss behavioral changes like regular exercise, portion control, and avoiding saturated fats that could lead to a healthier, more focused, and effective police force.
