Orders are now being accepted for a program that helps students learn about the vital role that trees play in our state environment.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is again offering the Seedlings for Schools program which provides a classroom or grade level with enough seedlings for each student to take one home to plant.
Seeding choices from the Commission’s Howard Nursery include white spruce and silky dogwood. A companion program called Seedlings to Develop Habitats geared toward older kids is not being offered this year as the Game Commission tries to save on the costs of the program.
This program is free for schools and shipping costs are covered by donations from the Wildlife for Everyone Endowment Foundation. The deadline to place an order is March 24. Visit pgc.pa.gov for more information.
