Pittsburgh Pirates pitchers and catchers report to Bradenton, Florida today. Their first workout is tomorrow. the first full-squad team workout will be Friday. Former Pirates utility player Sean Rodriguez will undergo shoulder surgery after being injured in an automobile accident January 28th. He will miss 3-5 months. He had signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves during the off-season. The Braves acquired second-baseman Brandon Phillips from the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend after the Rodriguez surgery was announced. The Reds recieve to minor league pitchers in the deal, but will pay $13 of the $14 million due to Phillips this season.
