The Butler high school indoor track and field teams broke three school records at the Tri-State Track Coaches Associaton meet at Edinboro University Saturday.
–The Girls 3200 meter relay team of Erin LeMay, Maggie Welty, Emma LeMay and Liz Simms won their event with a school record time of just under 9:52. The mark is also a provisional state qualifying time.
–The Distance Medley Relay team of Erin LeMay, Maggie Welty, Alexis Leech and Liz Simms broke the Butler school record by 20 seconds in a time just shy of 13:00.
–The Boys Distance Medley Relay team of Brett Brady, Cody Reddick, Steve Patterson and Noah Beveridge broke the school record as well.
–Alexis Leech lowered her state-qualifying time in the 400 meter run, and Jen Reinheimer hit a personal best with a throw of 38′ 7″ in the shot-put. A mark that puts her in the top-10 of the state and inside the state qualifying standard.
Saturday High School Basketball:
The Seneca Valley boys defeated Bethel Park 55-44 in the Pittsburgh Classic at Montour high school.
Pine-Richland boys defeated Montour 92-77.
AC Valley girls defeated St. Mary’s 51-32.
Sunday: the Mars boys lost to Lincoln Park 81-78 in overtime in the Pittsburgh Classic.
