Lexi Carpenter was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week and Brooke Hinderliter was tabbed the PSAC West Freshman of the Week as the Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team swept the weekly conference awards, the league office announced Tuesday.
Carpenter was dominant in two games last week, averaging 33 points. For the season, Carpenter ranks second in the PSAC in scoring with 18.8 points per game.
Hinderliter, a Redbank Valley grad, earned her fifth PSAC West Freshman of the Week award after another quality week of play in which she averaged 14.7 points, 7.7 rebounds.
Slippery Rock will play two home games at Morrow Field House over the next five days starting tonight at 5 p.m. against Pitt-Johnstown.
