The Washington Capitals defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 last night. Alexander Ovechkin scored twice, his first goal giving him 1,000 points in his NHL career. Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist scored for the Penguins. Both were power play goals in the third period. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 25 of 29 shots on goal.
The Penguins visit Ottawa tonight. Face-off is just after 7:30pm. Pre-game on WISR is 7pm. The Pens are 4-1-3 this season when playing on back to back nights. Goaltender Matt Murray is expected to return from an injury tonight.
