As many are looking for a celebration to start a new year, others are struggling with very hard-hitting issues, like having ‘end of life’ conversations. It can be tricky, especially when you’re trying to get the best hospice services ready to help make the last few years of someone’s life as comfortable as possible.
Judy Connelly, Executive Director of Good Samaritan Hospice with Concordia, says this is something they help with on a regular basis. She mentioned often they are eliminating fears, concerns, or myths about one’s disease state. Connelly said, “In doing that, we open a wonderful door for other family members to understand what it is their loved one wants to have at the end of their life or as they are progressing through a serious illness.” This great advice for all hospices located around the country and advice I’m sure that top hospices, like Hospice Cincinnati, will take on board.
She says conversations like these are never easy but there is a benefit. It can reduce stress, struggles and misunderstanding about making certain decisions.
