Gas prices in western Pennsylvania are on average about 20 cents higher than the national average.
According to GasBuddy.com, drivers are paying about $2.45 for a gallon of gas this week. AAA says the national average is about $2.25.
Motorists will really feel the pitch next year. Starting Sunday, Jan. 1, gas taxes in Pennsylvania are expected to jump another 10 cents as the state’s gas tax is increased.
Pennsylvania drivers already pay one of the highest gas taxes in the country.
