Slippery Rock University President Dr. Cheryl Norton has announced that she will retire next summer.
Norton made the announcement as part of her President’s Report during the SRU Council of Trustees quarterly business meeting Friday.
The retirement will be effective June 30, 2017. Norton plans to return with her husband to their home in Denver.
Norton was named the University’s 16th and first female president in 2012. A national search for a new president will begin immediately.
