One of the teams the Pittsburgh Pirates were reportedly in talks with regarding outfielder Andrew McCutchen traded for an outfielder Wednesday. The Washington Nationals sent three top prospects to the Chicago White Sox for Adam Eaton. Former Pirates left-hander Jeff Locke has signed a one year $3 million deal with the Miami Marlins.
The Chicago Cubs have sent outfielder Jorge Soler to the Kansas City Royals for their closer Wade Davis. Since moving exclusively to a relief role in 2014, Davis has gone 19-4 with 47 saves and a 1.18 ERA in 185 appearances, limiting opponents to a .163 batting average and allowing only three home runs in 182.2/3rd innings. He will replace Aroldis Chapman. Soler batted .238 with 12 home runs last season for the Cubs.
