County leaders met Tuesday to discuss bettering public transit in Butler.
A recent survey done by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission showed the top three destinations local residents want a route to is into Pittsburgh, Cranberry Township and Pittsburgh International Airport.
Some of those that took the survey said they believe jobs are going unfilled in Cranberry due to a lack of public transit.
The commission ranked future changes at the Butler Transit Authority into short, medium and long term goals based on funding. SPC officials believed adding a service to the new VA facility in Center Township and evening service to Butler County Community College could be implemented within the new few months, with service to Pittsburgh a possibility within the next few years.
