The California Vulcans season came to an end Saturday following a 41-30 defeat at home to Shepherd in the Division II quarterfinals. Cal jumped out to a 17-0 lead, but couldn’t hold off the Rams, who were the nation’s runner-up last season. Cal wide receiver Garry Brown ended his career with 127 yards and two touchdowns with 10 catches in the game. Shepherd wide receiver Billy Brown had nine catches for 172 yards and two scores. Both are names that could be NFL draft selections next spring.
