A Clay Township man remains in the Butler County Prison after allegedly overdosing on drugs while driving his 13-year-old son.
The crash happened on Thanksgiving morning at the Pullman Square shopping plaza.
According to a police criminal complaint, Jason Bieber, 34, was driving on Arbor Street when he passed out. His vehicle traveled across Hansen Avenue, over an embankment and slammed into a curb in front of the Arby’s restaurant.
Bieber’s 13-year-old son was in the backset of the car. Police say the boy jumped out of the runaway vehicle before it crashed.
Bieber was unconscious when emergency crews arrived. He was revived with the anti-opioid drug naloxone and refused further medical treatment.
He was jailed on a long list of charges, including driving under the influence and child endangerment.
The child was not injured.
