Eleven people were hurt- one critically- when a man plowed his car into a group of pedestrians at Ohio State University Monday.
After driving into the group, Abdul Razak Ali Artan got out of the car and started stabbing people with a butcher knife. He was shot and killed by police.
Elizabeth Kairis- a North Allegheny graduate and freshman at Ohio State- told our news partners at WPXI-TV that she was in biology class when the university sent a tweet warning of an “active shooter” on campus.
Artan was an Ohio State student and a legal permanent resident of the United States. He was born in Somalia.
Police say they are investigating whether Monday’s incident was a terrorist attack.
