Those interested in helping out the Butler Transit Authority’s effort to Stuff the Bus for those in need will have an additional chance to do so this year.
“This Saturday before the parade, they can go to the New Castle Street Plaza where the petting zoo will be. We are going to do that for the first time so that people can drop it off there. Then on Sunday the 27th, we’ll be at the Clearview Mall out front of the Garfield’s entrance area, away from the mall out toward Route 8 North.”
John Paul is Executive Director for the Butler Transit Authority. For the fourth year, the Authority is teaming up with the Salvation Army for this collection drive to help our less fortunate neighbors. Items needed include toys, clothing, and food.
“We’ll be there accepting unwrapped new toys, new children’s clothing sizes five to fourteen, and canned and non-perishable food items. Those will be distributed to the Salvation Army for their distribution based on the needs of the community.”
After collecting at the plaza Saturday afternoon, those attending the downtown festivities will be able to see the Santa Trolley bus in the Spirit of Christmas Parade beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more information about the Butler Transit Authority, visit butlertransit.com.
