One Butler County resident is among 50 charged statewide with insurance fraud during a sweep by the Attorney General’s Insurance Fraud Section.
The 50 cases involve a total potential fraud of more than $1 million, Attorney General Bruce Beemer announced Monday.
Todd Curtin, 40, of Mars was charged with identify theft, insurance fraud and theft by deception.
Curtin is accused of assuming the identity of his brother in order to receive medical treatment while his brother was out of the country. He allegedly received more than $7,000 in medical benefits using his brother’s identity.
