Western Pennsylvania got its first taste of snowy, winter weather over the weekend.
Some parts of Butler County saw several inches of snow between Saturday morning and late Sunday evening.
That means for the first time in several months, drivers in western Pennsylvania had to drive in snow.
Experts say it takes a few days for drivers to get used to driving in the inclement weather again.
Mark Mares- who has worked for PennDOT in Butler County for 32 years- urges drivers to slow down and be patient.
“Please give yourself extra time,” Mares said.
If you come upon a plow truck- stay back and don’t attempt to pass. You’re goal is to keep six car lengths between you and the truck.
Expect snow flurries throughout Monday morning. No additional snow accumulation is expected. Temperatures will likely top out at 33 degrees.
Looking ahead to Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, rain showers are expected before noon with a high of 45.
Winter officially starts on Dec. 21.
