The Karns City football team defeated Hickory 35-17 Saturday in the opening round of the PIAA tournament. The Gremlins scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to eliminate the previously undefeated Hornets.
Karns City will face Central-Martinsburg in the 3-A quarterfinals Friday at Dubois high school at 7pm.
The Seneca Valley Raiders fell to Central Catholic 42-7 in the WPIAL 6-A championship Friday.
