Drivers in our area should be aware of a special police emphasis on seat belt enforcement over the next couple weeks.
The Pennsylvania State Police are participating in the ‘Click It or Ticket’ traffic enforcement program beginning Monday and running through Thanksgiving weekend.
Motorists stopped for a traffic violation while not wearing a seatbelt will receive two citations, one for the traffic violation and another for the seat belt violation. Authorities are also reminding drivers that buckling up and using child safety seats properly can greatly increase chances of survival in a crash.
Also, the State Police are conducting a child passenger safety seat check in neighboring Clarion County on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. on East Main Street in Clarion. For more information, visit psp.state.pa.us.
